In 1295, Marco Polo returned to Venice, his hometown, where he had been away for 25 years, to visit the local nobles, to tell the story of the East, and to give gifts such as porcelain, wine, tea and silk. The nobles enjoyed the mellowness of the wine while praising the exquisite pottery pots that held the wine, and came up with the idea of making pottery pots to store wine. Under the participation and guidance of Marco Polo, a number of handmade pottery workshops were opened in Venice, Florence and Milan, Italy, mainly to produce utensils for storing wine. Some masters of art broke the pottery pots into pieces and collaged them into various decorative patterns to decorate the palace, church and villa. With the fragrance of fine wine, exquisite collaged decorative patterns, the decorative style of pure hand-made charm has become the love of European high society, and has been passed down to the present. As the originator of Chinese antique tiles, Marco Polo 1295 is a brand with pure Eastern and Western blood. Its story originated in Europe and its products are rooted in China. Since the birth of the first antique tile in 2005, Marco Polo 1295, as a sub-category of Marco Polo, inherits the essence of Italian original design, endowing "Rustic” antique tile with original appearance and flavor.
